A Brief History on the Origins of Werewolves Werewolves used to be ordinary humans that partook in witchcraft and other forms of magic. A werewolf was from a subgroup of witches that specifically used their magic to turn into a wolf. Some would turn into a regular wolf, while others preferred a more anthropomorphic version. Over time, this small subgroup adapted and evolved into their own separate species and became what many refer to as ‘The Original Werewolves’ and are the ancestors of all modern, full-blooded werewolves. Modern werewolves are not witches and their biology shows that they are no longer mere humans. All werewolves, regardless of their origins, have some level of magic properties which is limited to their ability to transform from a human form to a wolf form.
